METHOD OF UPDATING MOBILE COMMUNICATION NETWORK INFORMATION IN THE MIXED NETWORK OF CDMA2000 1X AND CDMA2000 1XEV-DO

A method for updating network information in a mobile communication network where CDMA2000 1x and CDMA2000 1xEV-DO networks are mixed together is provided to update changed base station information when a propagation environment is changed, and to update CDMA2000 1xEV-DO network information by transferring to a CDMA2000 1xEV-DO network if the propagation environment of a CDMA2000 1x network is not changed, thereby reducing battery consumption. A mobile communication terminal monitors a CDMA2000 1x network(S100), and decides whether a propagation environment of the monitored network is changed(S102). If so, the terminal updates base station information of the network(S104), resets a count showing the frequency of continuity of the propagation environment, and stores changed base station information(S106), then is transferred to a sleep state(S108). The terminal reconfirms whether the propagation environment of the network is changed(S110). If not, the terminal increases the count(S112), and confirms whether the increased count is more than a designated value(S114). If so, the terminal updates base station information of a CDMA2000 1xEV-DO network by tuning with the CDMA2000 1xEV-DO network(S116), and is transferred to a sleep state(S118). The terminal monitors a state of the CDMA2000 1x network by tuning with the CDMA2000 1x network(S100).
