The present invention relates to a liquid crystal display (LCD) device, which includes a LCD panel having a liquid crystal material sandwiched by two substrates; a backlight module disposed beneath the LCD panel; and a display device housing for accommodating the LCD panel and the backlight module. The backlight module is of a direct type point light source, which includes a plurality of point light sources, a reflector, a diffuser and multiple layers of optical films. The reflector has a plurality of apertures, and each aperture corresponds to a respective point light source such that light of the point light source can fully penetrate through the apertures to project on the diffuser. The diffuser has a plurality of radial mesh points randomly distributed, and there is a center point among the randomly distributed radial mesh points, in which at least one point light source corresponds to the center point of the randomly distributed radial mesh points.
