Aqueous compositions comprising a cationic copolymer with a molecular weight in the range of 30,000 to 300,000 and a high molecular weight alcohol, for example at least one C20-C40 alcohol, and the use of said aqueous compositions to prepare cosmetic eye-care formulations, for example mascara or eyeliner, are described. The eye-care formulations give outstanding shine as well as durability to rub- off to the cosmetic eye-care compositions.
