METHOD FOR IMPLEMENTING SECURITY BETWEEN IBM HOST AND CLIENT PC USING MAC ADDRESS

PURPOSE: A method for implementing security between an IBM host and a client PC using a MAC(Media Access Control) address is provided to efficiently apply for all businesses accessing the IBM host and needing the security by implementing a routine for checking the MAC address between all servers following the RFC1647 and a tn3270 emulator of the PC. CONSTITUTION: A server requests the MAC address to each client PC. Each client PC sends the MAC address to the server. The server compares the MAC address received from each client PC with a MAC address file stored in the server. It is judged that the client PC accesses the IBM host based on a comparing result.
