PURPOSE: To provide an apparatus for effectively treating wastewater by flowing a certain range of minute electric current to a photo-catalyst electrochemically coated on filter plates, thereby improving reaction efficiency of the photo-catalyst coated on the surface of the filter plates. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for treating wastewater comprises a tank(10) equipped with a wastewater inflow part(11) and a purified water discharge part(12); a plurality of filter plates(20) which are stacked in the tank with being distanced from each other in a certain gap, and on which a photo-catalyst thin film is formed; an ultraviolet lamp(30) for activating photo-catalyst of the filter plates; and a power supply part(40) for supplying minute electric current to the filter plates, wherein the apparatus further comprises a screw(50) for forming water current, an air generation means, an ozone generation means, a hydrogen peroxide supply means and a supersonic wave generation means in the tank, wherein a plurality of holes are perforated on the filter plates, wherein the power supply part has a minute electric current of 0.001 to 0.3 A and a voltage of 20 to 150 V, and wherein the ultraviolet lamp is formed in a pipe shape, and a receiving hole is formed on the filter plates so that the ultraviolet lamp is inserted into the receiving hole.
