PURPOSE: A microorganism preparation having a compost maturation effect using a microorganism Brevibacillus sp. and a process for preparation thereof are provided, which microorganism Brevibacillus sp. is useful for stimulation of compost maturation and recycling of waste resource including livestock feces. CONSTITUTION: The microorganism Brevibacillus laterosporus(KCTC 10478BP) having improved compost maturation stimulation activity and being antagonistic to plant pathogenic bacteria is provided, wherein Brevibacillus laterosporus(KCTC 10478BP) is isolated from the soil. The microorganism preparation having a compost maturation effect comprises Brevibacillus laterosporus(KCTC 10478BP) as an effective component. The method for preparing the microorganism preparation comprises mixing the cultured medium of Brevibacillus laterosporus(KCTC 10478BP) and the useful substances produced from Brevibacillus laterosporus(KCTC 10478BP) with a diluting agent.
