Phytoremediation of soils contaminated with explosive compound using indigenous herbaceous plants, Abutilion avicennae or Aeschynomene indica

PURPOSE: A method for purifying contaminated soil using indigenous herbaceous plants which do not cause disturbance of local natural ecosystem and are not influenced by other contaminants such as heavy metals existed in contaminated soil is provided. CONSTITUTION: The phytoremediation method of contaminated water or contaminated soil is characterized in that chemical is removed by growing Abutilon avicennae or Aeschynomene indica at an area where is contaminated with chemical compounds, thereby absorbing the chemical compound into the plant bodies thereof, wherein the chemical compound is TNT(2,4,6-trinitrotoluene), and the chemical compound is RDX (hexahydro-1,3,5-trinitro-1,3,5-triazine).
