PURPOSE: A system and a method for remote control of a digital broadcasting receiver by ground wave digital broadcasting are provided to easily and conveniently carry out reservation recording of a digital broadcasting program without direct connection with a digital broadcasting receiver. CONSTITUTION: A system for remote control of a digital broadcasting receiver by ground wave digital broadcasting includes a terminal(20) at a remote place, a remote control service system of a digital broadcasting, a digital broadcasting transmission system, and a digital broadcasting receiver. The remote control service system(44) transmits EPG(Electronic Program Guide) information to the terminal and stores requested reservation recording information. The digital broadcasting transmission system(42) encodes the reservation recording information stored in the remote control service system to transmit a corresponding broadcasting program. The digital broadcasting receiver(10) receives and decodes digital broadcasting streams from the digital broadcasting transmission system for obtaining information on the reservation recording, thereby carrying out the reservation recording.
