Apparatus for Monitoring Network based on the Protocol Analysis on Mobile Communication Network and Method thereof

PURPOSE: A network monitoring apparatus and method based on a protocol analysis in a mobile communication network are provided to offer a subscriber a stable wireless data service by entirely monitoring a data network through a protocol analysis from packet data. CONSTITUTION: A BTS(Base Transceiver System)/BSC(Base Station Controller)(200) guarantees mobility of a subscriber(100) and performs a function of handoff and wireless support management. A PCF(200) connects the subscriber to a PDSN(Packet Data Serving Node)(400) when the subscriber(100) requests a wireless data service. The PDSN(400) is connected to a data communication network from the PCF(Packet control Function)(200). An S/H(Switching/Hub)(500) transfers a packet to a suitable port on the basis of a packet address, and a router(500) connects separated networks using the same transmission protocol. A network monitoring unit(300) makes various statistics by receiving and analyzing IP packet data transmitted between the PCF(200) and the PDSN(400) and between the PDSN(400) and the S/H, router(500), and generates information related to an error of a network by periodically referring to the statistics and provides it as audible information to a mobile communication network operating provider.
