ECHO CANCELLATION METHOD FOR DSP HAVING VOCODER AND ECHO CANCELLER

PURPOSE: A method for removing echo of a DSP incorporating an echo remover and a vocoder is provided to control the renewing frequency of an adaptive echo remover according to variable rate information of the vocoder, thereby improving the performance of the echo remover to remove the echo components fast. CONSTITUTION: A method for removing echo of a DSP incorporating an echo remover and a vocoder includes the steps of removing echo components by adaptive filtering of the echo remover as a PCM data is input(S101-S102), carrying out vocoding of the signal from which the echo components are removed(S103), determining whether a compression rate is high to find out whether a DSP source is used small(S104), renewing a remaining DSP source by adding the remaining DSP source to an allocated DSP source for the renewing of an original filter coefficient(S105), and carrying out the renewing by a DSP source originally allocated for the filter coefficient renewing when all allocated sources are used for the vocoder(S106).
