PURPOSE: A method and a system for authenticating and billing a data service of a general subscriber are provided to facilitate call control for a limited subscriber and separately perform authentication and billing operation on the limited subscriber and a general subscriber with billing log information. CONSTITUTION: A subscriber processing system(400) receives requests for new subscription, subscription release, change in subscriber information from a user and transfers entire subscriber information or limited subscriber information, or every information on a subscriber to a billing system(100) and an authentication system(200). When a mobile terminal of a user connects to a PDSN(Packet Data Serving Node)(300) and logs in, an authentication request message is transmitted to the authentication system(200). Upon receiving the authentication request message, the authentication system(200) authenticates the user to allow him/her to use a service. While the user is using the service, the authentication system(200) stores billing information of the corresponding service and transmits it to the billing system(100).
