PURPOSE: An immune regulating secreted protein L259 is provided which is useful for the prevention and treatment of immune deficiency disorder. CONSTITUTION: An immune regulating secreted protein L259 is characterized by having the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1, wherein the immune regulating secreted protein is extracellular secreted protein and is mainly expressed from lung. A method for regulating immune cells using the immune regulating secreted protein L259 comprises the steps of: (1) isolating spleen cells; (2) mixing a protein L259 expressed medium with the spleen cells; (3) labeling the spleen cells mixed with the protein L259 with radiation; and (4) recovering DNA and measuring radiation of recovered DNA, wherein a gene encoding the immune regulating secreted protein L259 has the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2.
