PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing WC-based powder for thermal spray coating is provided to obtain WC-Co based powder with high corrosion resistance against molten zinc. CONSTITUTION: In the formation of a thermal spray coating layer made of WC-based powder on a member that is brought into contact with molten zinc, the present method is characterized in that tungsten is added to WC-Co so that ternary thermal spray coating material of WC-Co-W is manufactured.
