Powered wheelchair interface method for the spinal cord injury person

PURPOSE: Provided are an electric wheelchair interface device and method using electromyogram signal and an electric wheelchair that a spine patient who can't move hands free drives by moving muscle on a shoulder or a neck. CONSTITUTION: The wheelchair interface device includes: two pairs of dipolar electrode(101a,101b,111a,111b) to obtain a user's electromyogram signal by being mounted on the user's muscle; a pre-treatment part which filters the signal and converts it into a digital value; a memory(123) to store a movement data of the user according to a wheelchair driving command; and a microprocessor(122) which senses the movement of the user by using the electromyogram signal passed through the pre-treatment part, and senses the wheelchair driving command from the memory(123) to drive the electric wheelchair thereby. The pre-treatment part includes such as a differential amplifier, notch filters(103,113), band pass filters(104,114), and an A/D converter(121).
