PURPOSE: A method for scheduling a cell securing a priority of a switch having an input queue is provided to secure both priorities and fairness with a cell scheduler for processing the priorities in a switch having an input queue, thereby expanding applied ranges by efficiently retrieving the priorities. CONSTITUTION: A switch starts from a time slot '0'(400), and creates a cell input table(405). The switch determines 'a' and 'b' values after creating the cell input table(410). The switch selects one 'x' value(415). A generalized diagonal line is produced(420). When the diagonal line is produced, the switch retrieves priorities at the cell input table(425), makes a transmission matrix from a cell having the highest priority, and updates the transmission matrix(430). Until a selected 'x' frequency becomes 'N'(435), the switch changes the 'x' value(440). If only cells having general priorities remain, the switch re-applies an SFCS(Self-Firing Cell Scheduler) algorithm(445), and updates the transmission matrix(450). The switch transmits the cell of the transmission matrix(455).
