PURPOSE: A photocatalytic filter for oxidizing thus eliminating malodor and bacteria existing in air and an adsorptive photocatalytic filter for preventing separation of secondary contaminants are provided, an air purifying device comprising photocatalytic filter, adsorptive photocatalytic filter and lamp is provided, and a method for treating contaminants contained air using horizontal multistep filter device is provided. CONSTITUTION: The air purifying device comprises a housing(12) in which a certain space is secured; an air inlet(2) installed at one side of the housing(12) so that air is flown in the housing from the outside of the housing(12) through the air inlet(2); at least one or more of photocatalytic filters(6) for oxidation decomposing odor and contaminants such as microorganisms existing in air flown in through the air inlet(2) by photocatalytic oxidation reaction; at least one or more of adsorptive photocatalytic filters(8) for oxidation decomposing the contaminants by photocatalytic oxidation reaction and adsorbing secondary contaminants generated by the photocatalytic oxidation reaction at the same time; at least one or more lamps(10) for generating the photocatalytic oxidation reaction by irradiating light onto the photocatalytic filters(6) and adsorptive photocatalytic filters(8); a power supply part(16) for supplying electric current to the lamps(10); and an air vent(4) for ventilating the air treated by the photocatalytic oxidation reaction to the outside.
