PURPOSE: A method of making a functional food and medicine by adding rice bran, embryo-retaining polished rice or chitosan to an antler, freeze-dried deer blood and/or old antler and then inoculating with Beauveria bassiana or Cordyceps militaris spawn is provided. It permits the useful component of antlers and deer blood to be contained within the product without undergoing a substantial breakdown in texture. CONSTITUTION: A mixture of 5 to 20% by weight of rice bran or embryo-retaining polished rice and 0.001 to 0.005% by weight of chitosan is added to an antler(Cervi Cornu), freeze-dried deer blood and/or old antler and then sterilized at 120 to 150deg.C for 15 to 50min. It is then inoculated with Beauveria bassiana or Cordyceps militaris spawn in a sterile state, cultured for 20 to 60 days and dried with hot air or freeze-dried.
