PURPOSE: A double effective serial absorption type refrigerator is provided to prevent crystals from generating on a circulation path of an absorbing solution, thereby preventing troubles. CONSTITUTION: A double effective serial absorption type refrigerator includes a high-temperature regenerator(1), a vapor/liquid separator(2), a low-temperature regenerator(3), a condenser(4), an evaporator(5), an absorber(6), a high-temperature heat exchanger(7), and a low-temperature heat exchanger(8), and returns a weak absorbing solution to the high-temperature regenerator by an absorbing solution pump(19'). A refrigerant solution tank(30) is installed at an upper part of the refrigerator for connecting a refrigerant solution inlet pipe(31) branched from an outlet of a heat transfer pipe installed in the low-temperature regenerator. A refrigerant solution supply pipe(32) is connected with the refrigerant tank and the low-temperature heat exchanger. A solenoid valve(33) is installed at the refrigerant solution supply pipe for automatically supplying a refrigerant solution of the refrigerant solution tank to the thick absorbing solution of the low-temperature heat exchanger to dilute the thick absorbing solution when the electricity fails.
