PURPOSE: A method for charging/checking the balance of a prepaid phone service in an asynchronous IMT-2000 network is provided to offer a subscriber an announcement service such as pre-paid balance checking/charging. CONSTITUTION: A subscriber originates a preset feature code to an MSC(Mobile Switching Center) through a mobile terminal(S10). The MSC transmits a message(InitialDIP) to an HLR(Home Location Register)(S20). The HLR transmits a connect message to the MSC(S30). The MSC transmits the message(InitialDIP) to an SCP(Service Control Protocol)(S40). The SCP transmits a request report message(Request Report BCSM Event) and a billing information message(Furnish Charging Information) to the MSC(S50,S60). The SCP transmits announcement path address message(Establish Temporary Connection) to the MSC(S70). A speech path is established between the MSC and an IP(S80). The IP transmits an announcement query message(Assist Request Instruction) to the SCP to request instruction for an announcement to be sent to the mobile terminal(S90). The SCP transmits a message(Prompt Collect User Interaction) to the IP(S100). The IP sends an announcement to the mobile terminal(S110). A subscriber inputs information for requesting a desired service. The mobile terminal transmits the subscriber inputted information to the IP, and the IP collects the corresponding information(S120). The IP transmits a message including the subscriber information(Prompt And Collect User Interaction ACK) to the SCP(S130). The SCP transmits a response(Prompt Collect User Interaction) to the IP(S140). The IP sends an announcement to the mobile terminal(S150). The mobile terminal transfers the subscriber inputted information to the IP(S160). The IP transmits a message informing about the subscriber inputted information(Prompt And Collect User Interaction) to the SCP(S170). The SCP transfers a termination command message(Disconnect Forward Connection) to the MSC(S180).
