Predictive current control apparatus for phase-controlled rectifier using on-line parameter estimation and method thereof

A device for controlling a predictive current of a phase-controlled rectifier by using online parameter estimation and a method therefor are provided to calculate firing angle information on excessive states by using exactly estimated load parameters to load the calculated information on a timer, and to fire thyristors by the timer, thereby increasing firing precision without errors. A firing angle calculator(210) calculates a firing angle by being adapted to a negative value and a positive value of a predictive current and a current load current, by using load parameter values and a reference current, and outputs the calculated firing angle. A timer(220) receives the firing angle to generate firing signals that report a firing time, and outputs the generated firing signals. A dual converter(230) comprises thyristors controlled by each of the firing signals, rectifies an AC power, and supplies the rectified AC power to a load(250). An online parameter estimator(240) calculates the load parameter values, and outputs the calculated load parameter values.
