FIELD: handling spent nuclear fuel. ; SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes electrolytic reduction and anodic oxidation stages. Elements of platinum group, silver, technetium, selenium, and tellurium are separated in the process. Ruthenium and rhodium are used as catalysts in hydrogen fuel production for fuel elements. In addition platinum group elements extracted by means of separation and extraction method are used as catalysts in fuel electrode of fuel elements. Palladium is used as catalyst to clean hydrogen fuel for fuel elements and also as hydrogen absorbing alloy in laminated Mg-Pd alloy. Hydrogen produced during electrolytic reduction stage of separation and extraction method is used as hydrogen fuel in fuel elements. ; EFFECT: enhanced percentage of extracted elements. ; 9 cl
