The system has a piston/cylinder arrangement operating with a braking fluid which is caused to act on a brake when a brake pedal is actuated. The piston/cylinder arrangement is connected to a pump arrangement and a pressure reservoir with a housing (10). The pressure reservoir housing has a fluid connector (12) for fluid flowing into or out of the housing and a spring arrangement (30a,30b) against whose force the incoming fluid acts. At least one part of the spring arrangement is formed by a part of the housing wall in the form of a pref. metal bellows.
