A spring assembly has springs (1) in neighboring series. The springs are made of spring steel wire (2) and wound in various interactions (5,6). Eyelets or spirals are provided at the ends of each spring, allowing springs to be combined together by twisting or interlacing of neighboring interactions. The springs double conically as waist springs. The spring steel wire is provided on its upper or lower end with a sharp bend (4) shortly before the joining place (3). The bends bend slightly upwards or downwards in direction of the opposite lying spring. The interactions of the neighboring springs are hooked or twisted with each other. The spring has in total three full interactions.
