Safeguarding method for reducing friction wear on tires fitted to three-axle truck semitrailers uses an axle lift to raise axles so as to relieve them of mechanical load during cornering

Two of three axles are relieved of their mechanical load compared to their bearing pressure as they start to take a corner, and, are raised by means of an axle lifter. Both front axles in a direction of travel are lifted. Two pairs of compressed-air bellows are partly deflated so as to reduce contact pressure in the case of loaded semitrailers with compressed-air springs. An independent claim is also included for a device for reducing friction wear on tires fitted to three-axle truck semitrailers.
