The self-closing strap has a strap pin (1), a strap sleeve (2) and rollers (3) that interact under the force of gravity to produce a closing-torque motion. The strap pin and strap sleeve are threaded, forming spiral running grooves for the rollers. Independent claims are included for the following: (a) Strap pin; (b) Strap sleeve; and (c) Thread arrangement on the strap pin and strap sleeve.
