A water power unit is integrated into the gates of a flow barrier and comprises a water fall shaft over the whole width of the gate with blade wheels and with all generators and drives installed in a watertight housing : An independent claim is also included for a unit as above in which the fall height is adjustable if the outlet is tidal.
