Method for carrying out transactions between units in a network, e.g. mobile phones in an IP packet-based network. According to the method IP addresses are directly determined for transaction transmitter and receiver so that direct communication between the two is possible. The invention also relates to a corresponding system for carrying out transactions between network units.
