The knurled longitudinal edge (8a) of a limitation bar (8) gets pressed into the reception groove (6) between a knurling cylinder (11) and a supporting roller (12) which supports the opposing side of the bar. The cylinder and the roller each have conical surfaces resting against the bar such that an outwardly extending keyway (14) is formed. An independent claim is also included for a knurling apparatus.
