A molded three-dimensional shaped body of a fiber material is shaped in a mold with a lower section (10) and an upper section where their inner contours form the outer surfaces of the body. The upper and/or lower mold sections have holes (13, 14) as an air escape. Fibers are blown into the mold from an opened bale, through an inflow (12), to be deposited on the inner surfaces of the lower section and a temporary upper mold section (9), as a blank. The fibers are bonded together by a bonding agent, to convert the blank into the shaped body.
