Method for construction of support structures and bodywork of a motor vehicle has the following steps: creation of a CAD base part using CAD libraries; insertion of CAD outer skin data as geometric limiting conditions; insertion of at least a CAD base part into the CAD program; use of an adapter model to create at least two prismatic regions of a technical model and; use of a CAD solid surface between at least two prismatic regions so that a 3D representation of the support structure and bodywork parts can be made.
