The mixer uses at least two spray pumps (3,4) which are arranged in series in the through flow direction whereby the first pump in the flow direction is formed as a mixer pump with mixer chamber for the additive and the second pump is an acceleration pump connected in on the outlet side of the first pump. Independent claim describes method for operating spray pump mixer where extinguishing agent is used as drive medium fed into the pumps through supply lines so that the extinguishing agent mixes with the additives in the first pump and the mixture is supplied to the second pump where it is then speeded up.
