A wind power unit comprises a simply produced vertical rotor with movable blades (3) so arranged that in a self-arresting condition the rotor moves (2) with the wind (1) under a wind load. In a windless condition the rotor can move back to the self-arresting condition to absorb wind and turn the rotor.
