A method for fabricating a molding which is designed as a flat-shaped sheet metal part and has at least one aperture (2). In a edge strip (11) surrounding the aperture (2), on the first face (9) of the molding (1), a step (12) is provided and thereby the molding is supported on a second face opposite the first face (9) by a matrix (4) with a conical matrix surface (6) such that the molding (1) in parts on its second face (10) assumes the shape of the conical matrix surface (6) and subsequently after further reforming a collar surrounding the aperture (2) is formed which juts out from the second face (10) of the molding (1).
