The balun has an electrical line section (12) with 2 conductors (2,5), one of which is directly coupled to earth, for providing an unsymmetrical input (In) at one end, the opposite ends of the 2 conductors coupled to a symmetrical output (Out) via an impedance network. The latter has an impedance (x3) connected between earth and the conductor which is directly coupled to earth at the first end, an impedance (x1) connected in series between the end of the second conductor and the symmetrical output and an impedance (x2) between the output end of the latter impedance and earth.
