A hybridizing process, for the study of biological material, a substrate e.g. a microscope slide (1) is provided with spots (9) over the surface area as an array (3) using catch molecules. A solution containing the hybridizing molecules is brought into contact with the spots, with a solution height level (S) equal to or greater than the diffusion length of the hybridizing molecules in the solution over the reaction time.
