The method for determining positions within and outside building using at least three fixed transceiver stations at so-called access points and at least a mobile transceiver unit or client node that communicates with the at least three access points. The position of the client node is determined from evaluation of the time of flights, determined from time resolved measurements of transmission and receipt of signals, of signals transmitted and received between the access points and client node.
