Preparation of layers on a semiconductor surface, for use as a biosensor, uses a medium containing an organic substance against the substrate for an electrical voltage to give organic deposits on the surface as an organic layer
Preparation of layers on a semiconductor surface, for use as a biosensor, is new. To form a number of layers on a silicon semiconductor substrate (1), for use as a biosensor, an organic layer is formed on the substrate surface by light. A medium containing an organic substance deposits it on the substrate surface through an electrical voltage with a potential difference between the substrate and the medium. The effect of the light gives a photo reaction in the medium and/or the substrate to form photo radicals, given a targeted orientation by the electrical voltage. The substrate wafer is laid on a metal plate (2) electrically connected to a potentiostat (3). A vessel (4), open at the top, is pressed against the substrate, with a ring seal (5) between them, to form a container (6) for the medium with the substrate as its base. One gold wire (7) is a reference electrode, and another gold wire (8) is a counter electrode. A pulsed laser (9) gives the illuminating light.
