System for purifying the waste air from a working animal stall comprises a water-spray separator (24, 26, 28) and a fan in the waste air flow. The water-spray separator is arranged at the inlet of a waste air pipe (10) having a branch (16) leading outdoors and a branch (20) leading back into the stall. A flap system (36, 38) selectively opens one or both branches. An independent claim is also included for a process for purifying the waste air from a working animal stall.
