The present invention relates to an abradable layer and for gas turbines.The abradable layer is used for the sealing of a radial gap between a housing (11) of the gas turbine and rotating rotor blades (10) of the same, wherein the abradable layer (13) is mounted on the housing.According to the invention, the abradable layer (13) made of an intermetallic titanium - aluminum - material (fig. 1).
