Method for detecting the beginning (BurstStartIndex) of a signal bust transmitted over a wireless network has the following steps: carrying out of a correlation between a measurement signal and a reference signal; determination of the position (MaxIndex) of the maximum of the correlation resu calculation of at least a first hypothesis of the beginning of a signal burst; calculation of the initial state of a scrambler; initialization of a descrambler with the initial value (InitValue) of the scrambler; decoding of the measurement signal with the descrambler and; determination if the first hypothesis is correct. The invention also relates to a corresponding computer program for implementing the inventive method.
