The device has a longitudinal branch (3-6) with wavelength selective element(s) (4,5), drop (9,11,12,14) and add (19,21,23-26) branches. A through path has a signal branching device (4) for feeding through signals to other add-drop devices and a signal combiner for receiving through signals from other add-drop devices. The drop branch has drop-routing elements (12,13) followed by adjustable filter elements (14,15). The add branch has add-routing elements (22,23). An independent claim is also included for the following: (a) a cross-connect device for optical signals.
