The method for heating a catalytic converter system with a secondary air-mass, in which at least during heating phase, the values of an engine air-mass flow and of a secondary air-mass flow are ascertained and are preferably measured, and in dependence of the value of the sum of these two values, an engine fuel flow being supplied to the combustion engine to adjust an enriched mixture is determined.
