The receptacle in the dashboard or central console for a pair of spectacles consists of a rectangular box (1.1) with a padded interior. It has an oval aperture leading into a blind bore in its top surface to accommodate the pair of spectacles. The box fits in a rectangular recess with a movable lid (1.2) hinged about its bottom front corner. It has a handhold in its front surface so that it can be pulled forward from the recess to enable the spectacles to be lifted out of the blind bore.
