The connecting element for the connecting of partition sections (1) has two connecting components (4,5) which can be spread at right angles to the partition sections in a first cartesian direction. The connecting components in a second cartesian direction have clamping sections (7) on both sides at right angles to the connecting edge of the corresponding partition section. The connecting components for the introducing of the connecting element into the region of the respective profile section of the connecting edge in a third cartesian direction are constructed narrower than the join gap defined by the connecting edges.
