To produce a casting of a ferrous alloy, with rotation symmetry, a mold is used with a tubular or conical hollow interior and at least one limit extending inwards. The mold rotates around a horizontal or angled axis, with a centrifugal acceleration of =1 g. Molten metal is fed into the mold continuously or in charges, and the collected metal hardens through a relative movement between it and the shell formed at the mold wall.
