Method for protecting an electronic transaction that is carried out using a transaction identification means (12) that includes a radio frequency identifier (RFID) tag. During an electronic transaction the read-only tag is read and at least one further security characteristic of the transaction identification means is read and evaluated. An independent claim is made for a device for protecting an electronic transaction.
