Communication appliance for industrial automation comprises mobile communication apparatus (3a,b) for wireless exchange of data with installation. It has also fixed fitted connector (7a,b) for communication apparatus and sensor (8) for detecting fitting of apparatus to connector. Preferably the communication apparatus contains a connecting cable line (23), while one connector (7b) contains line terminal (19b) for a cable line and the other connector (7a) may include a retainer for the communication apparatus.
