A method for the surface treatment of cut stone (concrete blocks or natural stone) involves treatment with Copex (RTM: special stone cleaner) (I), application of silicic acid in amounts of 5-500 ml/m 2 followed by silica sol in amounts of 10-180 ml/m 2, and intensive abrasion of the surface. Independent claims are also included for (1) stone (concrete) treatment methods in which the surface is cleaned with (I), coated with other materials and then abraded; other materials comprise (a) a special concrete additive (II), which is left to act on the surface for 1.5-30 minutes, (b) alkali silicate followed by silica sol, (c) alkali silicate with water-dispersible silane, followed by silica sol, (d) alkali methyl-siliconate followed by silica sol or (e) alkali methyl-siliconate with water-dispersible silane, followed by silica sol (2) materials for the surface treatment of cut stone, comprising the combinations listed above plus a combination of (I) with silicate ester, water-dispersible silane and/or siloxane and silica sol . Additive (II) is Lupo inno (RTM).
