The light (10) has a closed housing (12), a dimmable light source (14) inside the housing, an electrical voltage adapter (26) and a photometric sensor (32), whereby the radiation incident on the sensor is provided via a control loop for regulating the light source. The housing has a diffusely reflective internal surface, the sensor is directed into the interior of the housing and the control loop operates with the light density in the housing as the control parameter with which the operating value of the light source can be regulated.
