The passive pneumatic spring system for a motor vehicle comprises pneumatic springs (1) each with a main chamber (3) and a separate auxiliary chamber (4). These chambers are connected by a frequency selective connecting channel (5) which is coordinated with the volume of the main chamber and auxiliary chamber in such a way that during resonance oscillations of the working gas body and running gear oscillations are damped. The frequency selective coordination of the connecting channel is effected through its flow passage section.
